Over the past 25 years, Monique Farmer, APR, has worked in nearly every corner of the communications field, from federal government to corporate communications and education.

Today, she leads Avant Solutions, a firm dedicated to helping leaders articulate what matters most, communicate with confidence and reach the people who matter to their mission. The firm works closely with executives, nonprofit leaders and also government agencies looking for stronger communication strategies, majorly in those environments where public trust and transparency matter.

Farmer’s earlier roles helped shape that perspective. She spent more than a decade in public affairs with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before moving into corporate communications at ConAgra Brands. Later, as Director of Communications for Nebraska’s largest school district, she led large-scale messaging initiatives involving diverse stakeholders.

Her experience eventually led her to develop Anvil Ready, a communication strategy builder designed to help professionals structure messaging and plan more effectively.

Beyond consulting, Farmer has remained closely connected to education. She has taught public relations courses at both the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the University of Texas at Austin.

An accredited public relations practitioner (APR), Farmer is also the author of Chart Your Path: A 9-Step Method to Getting Unstuck, a book exploring professional growth and personal direction that achieved Amazon Bestseller status, won gold at the 2024 CIPA EVVY Awards and has been celebrated for helping readers take actionable steps toward their goals.
